Gripstone Recovery is based in Pennsylvania and collects past-due business invoices for companies anywhere in the US. Your customer can be in Pennsylvania or another state we've cleared. You pay nothing upfront, and our fee comes only from what we collect.
We keep it simple on your end. You hand us the file, and we handle the follow-up.
One services agreement covers every account you place with us.
Fill out a one-page placement form and attach your invoices, contract and history.
We confirm it's a business debt, check the rules in your customer's state before any contact, and make sure the paperwork is complete.
Letters, emails and calls from approved templates, all logged in your account file.
Funds clear into our trust account and go to you monthly, less our fee, with a full statement.
Contractors, suppliers, service companies and anyone else with unpaid commercial invoices.
We may also decline or return an account that's disputed, missing documents, or may be past the statute of limitations.
We work on contingency. There's no upfront or placement fee, and the rate is set by how old the account is on the day you place it. Fresh accounts cost less to collect.
| Account | When placed | Our fee |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 90 days or less after the first unpaid invoice was due | 20% |
| Tier 2 | 91 to 180 days after the first unpaid invoice was due | 25% |
| Tier 3 | More than 180 days, or a balance under $1,500 | 33% |
Fees are a percentage of amounts collected and are paid by you, never added to your customer's balance. Final terms are set in your signed agreement.
Your customer may be your customer again. We treat them that way.
We identify ourselves honestly and state the creditor's name and balance accurately.
We never threaten a lawsuit, and we never send anything that looks like a court paper.
We don't add fees to what your customer owes. Our fee is between you and us.
Business hours only, dialed by hand, with call-attempt limits and a log of every try.
When a debtor disputes, we pause and send it to you to review before going further.
Account files are confidential, access is limited, and data is encrypted in storage and in transit.
Gripstone Recovery is a collection agency, not a law firm. We don't give legal advice, file lawsuits or appear in court.
Bookkeepers, accountants and other independent advisors can refer clients to us and earn a share of our fee.
of Gripstone's fee on accounts you referred, paid when we're paid.
Straight answers. Your signed agreement controls the details.
No. There's no upfront or placement fee. You owe a fee only on amounts collected, apart from a few situations spelled out in the agreement, like withdrawing an account in the middle of a payment plan.
Business-to-business only: money a business owes for goods or services bought for business use. We don't collect consumer or household debt.
Pennsylvania, or another state we've cleared. Before we contact anyone, we check the rules in the debtor's state. We take a state only after confirming in writing that it needs no license, registration or bond from us. Right now we can't take debtors in Nevada, North Carolina, Arizona, North Dakota or Oregon. If you're not sure about yours, send it over and we'll tell you before you commit to anything.
No. We're based in Pennsylvania, but you can be located anywhere in the US.
It depends on the debtor's finances and willingness to pay, so we can't promise a timeline or a result. Placing an account early usually gives the best chance.
Payments go into a separate trust account used only for client money. Once a month we send you everything that cleared the month before, less our fee.
An itemized statement with each payout, showing every amount collected, its date and method, our fee, the net paid to you, the remaining balance and the account's status.
Tell us in writing. Direct payments on a placed account count as collected, and our fee applies, since our work usually prompts them.
We send you the dispute and you respond in writing within 10 business days. Good-faith credits you issue to resolve a dispute aren't charged a fee unless we negotiated them.
Only within the settlement limits you set in the agreement. Anything below that needs your written approval, and email is enough. You can set different limits for a specific account.
Yes. Balances under $1,500 fall in Tier 3 (33%), since smaller accounts take about the same work to collect.
No. We're not a law firm and we never file suit or appear in court. If you want legal action, we'll forward the file to an attorney you choose, at your written direction. Legal costs are under your own agreement with that attorney.
Send us the details and we'll review it. Enforcing a judgment through the courts is attorney work, so some cases are better sent straight to your lawyer.
We don't take accounts more than 3½ years past the first unpaid due date, unless the file has the debtor's signed written acknowledgment of the debt, which resets that date.
Yes, any time, by written notice. Our fee still applies to money already collected and to payments under a plan or settlement that was active when you withdrew. A withdrawal fee applies only if a plan or settlement talks were under way.
Either side can end it with written notice as set out in the agreement. A 6-month tail applies, so our fee still covers payments on your accounts during that window.
We're firm but courteous, use approved templates you can review, and never threaten or embarrass anyone. You can still do new work for the debtor while we collect.
That isn't part of our service. We focus on getting the account paid.
Yes. Your business information and every account file stay confidential and are used only to collect your accounts.
